There are the Aston Martins that stand out for being introduced in the market with an Italian coachbuilder brand. Several Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Fiat cars have debuted in the same way, as well as some Ferrari and Maserati. This brand is Zagato.
Founded in 1919, this year Zagato celebrates its 85th Anniversary. This is a special occasion to be inspired by the over 200 memorable models which have shaped the automotive industry. The roadster Version of the Aston Martin Vanquish is the latest proposal of the Milanese brand. Breaking the conventional rules and solutions used on the Roadsters, Zagato emphasis is on the rear of the car by expressing class and innovation. The wheel arch, the rear bumper and the trunk reflect the new design of the Vanquish; the round rear light cluster and the "double bubble", for the first time realized in glass.
Evolving through times and different contexts the typical "functional design" of Zagato has always given the added value of innovation and experimentation that differentiates the Milanese brand. This long journey today brings Zagato to hold an important role in a modern Centre of Integrated Services: Design, Modelling, Engineering and Prototyping. The most historical collaborations are with Alfa Romeo (41 different models since 1919), Fiat (43 models since 1919), Abarth (12 cars since 1957) and Lancia (31 models since 1928).
Zagato can also be proud of very important cars made with Maserati (8 models since 1932), Ferrari (13 models since 1950), Aston Martin (6 models), Lamborghini (4 models) Jaguar (2 models), Volvo (2 models) and Nissan (4 models). Since 1919 Zagato has created models with almost all automotive producers: Porsche, Bugatti, Rolls-Royce, Isotta Fraschini, MG, Rover, Audi, Honda, Toyota, Cadillac, Ford, Mini, Bristol, Diatto, OM, Bianchi, Itala, Gilco, DB Panhard, Moretti, Siata, Hillmann, Autobianchi e Lagonda.
