Purchased on July 14, 2007, once the order guides became available. Picked it up on October 15 in Ingolstadt, Germany. Performed the break-in period on the A9 Autobahn and did some restrained driving around the 140mph range. Have driven the S5 (Audi's not mine) on California Speedway's inside track last year and was impressed with the precision in the steering. It has servo-assisted steering and gets heavier as the speed increases but can be a little light when doing lower speeds (i.e. parking lot) but it's actually welcome when parallel parking or maneuvering in tight spaces in San Francisco.
I had the exhaust fabricated (none were available at the time) by a company that specializes in race exhausts. it has full mandrel-bent stainless steel tubing from the downpipes to the rear and utilizes a stainless steel X pipe and two mufflers. Also had a custom intake fabricated from mandrel-bent aluminum piping. 6-Piston 15" Cross-Drilled Brakes are installed courtesy of StopTech. Quickest run to 60mph was 4.47 seconds with the exhaust and intake using electronic testing equipment.
The car was in the June 2008 issue of European Car with the help of MadAudi, Nitto Tire, and Stoptech. Also is the Nitto Tire car appearing on the back cover of a few popular automobile publications.
