Based off the Land Rover’s LR3 SUV platform, the Range Rover Sport is designed more for on-the-road, but its off-road capabilities won’t go unnoticed. Its refined road manners powered by an extreme V8 engine assist in this SUV’s mountain-trail-tackling technologies. For 2008, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport gains a handful of trendy features including power-folding exterior mirrors and a power tilt-telescoping steering wheel.This midsize SUV is available in two trim levels: the HSE and Supercharged. Standard for the HSE trim are 19-inch wheels, power front seats, bi-xenon headlights, leather upholstery, an adjustable air suspension, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, front and rear parking sensors and a 14-speaker Harmon Kardon Logic 7 stereo with an auxiliary audio jack. Optional for the HSE, the Supercharged trim upgrades to 20-inch wheels, adaptive headlights, the Dynamic Response suspension system, heated windshield and washer jets, heated front and rear seats, walnut wood trim, a center console cooler box and satellite radio. Each trim can also add a rear-seat DVD entertainment system with LCD screens mounted in the front headrests.
Both trims are powered by V-8 engines. The HSE producing up to 300-horsepower with its 4.4-liter; and the Supercharged producing up to 390-horsepower with its 4.2 liter. When properly equipped, all Ranger Rover Sports this year can tow up to 7,716 pounds.
The 2008 Land Rover Range Rover Sport includes the standard features of antilock disc brakes, hill-descent control, full-length side curtain airbags and front side airbags.
