Is filing for 485 to get EAD etc really fraud? I mean it is their JOB to weed out the priority dates that are not current :). Besides if anyone is at fault it is the immigration lawyers.

I'm a Jul 02 filer and I received the 485 and 765 notices recently.
However, the PRIORITY DATE cell in receipts for both 485 & 765 is BLANK. Is this the usual practice? Shouldn't my PD be populated on these receipt notices?

I think it might be CT issue. There is an ongoing immigration fraud investigation against state employees so now they are over doing enforcement.
I had problem when I wanted to register my Car in New Jersey. I had moved to New Jersey from MA, so I had MA license at that time and was staying temorarily at my cousin's place. When I went to one DMV they told me that you need to have NJ driver's license to register my car. I told them the situation and that I was going to get NJ license once I get my place, but they just didn't register my car. I went twice at that place and got same answer.
Then I went to different DMV and the guy understood my situation and gave me a temporary NJ driver license number (NOT driver license) and registered my car. TOld me to give this number when I come to get NJ license and everything worked fine.
Its just some poeple don't want to know about some this or just want to create problems.

I got stuck in FBI name check for over 2+ years (24+ months)... run out of
patience or anything :mad: . I now decide to sue them by filing writ of mandamus in court. I'd like to have an experienced attorney do it for me. I'm looking for an attorney who is responsible and responsive, has been successful in filing writ of mandamus for clients to get the name check moving. This one was really difficult for me to evaluate because of all the openess, but I felt myself gravitating more towards the forms in number 3. Since it was the form that attracted me, I downloaded and cropped to make the fence the focus (since that's what grabbed my attention initially). I think I like the crop sans sky where only the wheatfield ( or is it oats?) and fence posts show the most. I know it has less complexity than the entire photo; maybe I'm just into simplistic and minimalist this week :)

I sent the following:
1) Confirmation Receipt of application
2) Copy of I 485 receipt
3) Front and back copy of current EAD card
4) A copy of the cut out that the current EAD came in
I don't think you need anything else. If you look at it theoretically I-94 and passport, drivers license has nothing to do with an EAD card approval or denial.

I guess it is an approval. In the cases where officer needs an approval from senior officer they issue N-652. That is standard practice.

Max No of visa can be issued to each county ( India) 10%

Pehaps all that your lawyer cares for is your fees. The answer to your question is 'No' you cannot use your experience gained with your current employers, ofcourse if the petitioner is your current employer.

But his signature says labor is approved. I remember giving my lawyer an updated resume with current employment when she filed 140 for me. Maybe thats OK in 140 petition????

What are the implications if for some wierd reason your I-485 gets denied and you dont have an H1-B to fall back upon?
Say you have an H1-B which is extended for 3 yrs( based on approved I-140) from now till 2011, in the year 2011 your I-485 file is opned and its not approved for some reason so will you get another 3 yr extension for H1-B ie till year 2014?
if your application is fine, there is no reason for you to worry. sometimes mistakes can happen..but i dont think you need to worry too much..its like having a heart attack while going to the movie..u can't plan for everything..

Yes, you can file for multiple visa simultaneously. Your I-9 may determine where you landed at last.

Because I have heard that one of the criteria for filing for extension is that it must be filed b4 the expiry of I-94, and that concerns me...
and, no, buddy, i don't have multiple job offers, the 1st company is simply a staffing company with which I would be filing just so that i don't go 'out of status' b4 i get the job with the 2nd company ... i'll be paying the fees from my pocket... I have good chances that i will get that job but not certain... i wish i had several offers... i am just trying to figure out what my options are here...

Guys, this is another great reason of why to change your mind and ATTEND THE RALLY! Let's force CNN to put us on their screens and laugh in Lou Dobbs' face! We can at least reply to his lies in a forceful yet peaceful and educated way (something he isn't!)
One thing I don't understand is how come this guy used the words bastard, communist china(all the time),cheap labor for computer programmers and he is so full of himself. Why does he have problem if US borrows flights from russia to transport vehicle?
Guess this guy needs serious help and be instutionalized for a very long time.

Good job Pratik. we should grab every opportunity we get to voice our opinion even though this TV interview was mostly on H1B visa cap and increasing the cap. Only 10 seconds or so were given to the lengthy green card process. Increasing H1B quota is not a solution for us. It would infact increase our wait times and backlog of applications. it is in the interest of Hi-tech companies to have the h1b visa quota increased so that they can get more skilled workers. However they know that once they have an H1B worker, they will have that worker for many years due to retrogression. Thus retrogression is not a BIG news story. We need to highlight the greencard quota issue and not confuse it with the H1B quota issue. I feel these are 2 different things. After watching the SJC and Senate proceedings I feel Retrogression and greencard quota issue needs more awareness and education amongst lawmakers so that it is not confused with H1B visa quota.

Can some one tell me which documents do I need to send for EAD and AP renewal. Also my EAD and AP expired before 4 months. Till date I have not used EAD and AP but now planning to use. So need help on that.
