MY case details are PD:02/2002, EB2, India. I-485 RD: 06/06/07.
When did processing time became on or after your Receipt Date: 06/06/07 and your Notice Date: 06/15/2008?
Is it because file misplaced - too many followups (3 SRs, Infopass, letters, calling IO)? At lease people have been able to find whether name check is cleared on not - could you figureout that? If not, I think, there is reason to be concerned.
Try simple question - name check is cleared or not?

1) Advanced degree in STEM + 3 years work ex = no numerical limit
2) Total EB category visa bumped up to 290,000
3) Dependents not to be included in numerical cap
All of this is good, but lets not get too happy so soon. Remember S.1932? We need to make sure that we keep the pressure on the lawmakers (who are pro-immigrants) not to budge this time in the conference committee. At the same time, we need to try and educate the anti-immigrant lawmakers that we are not ILLEGALs.
Do your bit: Recruit friends to join IV, volunteer by contacting lawmakers etc and contribute. Together we can win!

Enlighten us about your mutiple company stint in L1B visa.
My L1 visa is expiring on Nov5 2009 and If I have file my COS status in mid of oct and it's in pending status at the time of my L1 visa expiry date then will i be able to stay in US or do i have to go back india

They did not find anything wrong with prior employer in last 4 year. recently they found something wrong about my prior employer and asking me providing additional document and unfortunately company is closed or rename. I have told my current employer that i don't have any more evidance of my prior employer.Because of this reason they are asking me to come back india.
Is there any way that i can take legal action against this company in US because from last one week
they are harrassing my like anything.

That is one option but given that I am not on H1 and nor with the same employer - it may not be the way to go. This is something I am going to look into and have an attorney weigh in on. Thanks!

In some states (like NJ), you need a letter from Social Security Administration stating that you are not eligible for SSN.

To the person who gave me red with the comment "post the valid reason." That was not necessary, you could have just sent me a message.
Anyhow, the reason is that the company I trusted & toiled for past 8 years is down the tubes, after having faced years of lies, deceit & false promises. I know it's all my fault for being so trusting, so now I am trying to forget that pain & treatment & just progress moving forward.
So from what I gather, I can apply for a H1-B now, but it will be only for 1 year? I want to do a "new" H1 instead of a "transfer", since the company finances are a BIG ZERO or -VE, so I have no paystubs to show. And then eventually I want to file new GC with this new company.

No, experience from current company does not count.
That is not true. It CAN count... according to PERM guidelines (from murthy.com):
"On-the-job experience with same employer is allowed for positions that are not "substantially comparable," meaning more then 50%, different from the original employment position."
So if you are a Software Engineer and get promoted to Sr. Software Engineer or Product Manager then as long as you can prove that your job duties are 50%+ different than the old position, you can use that experience provided it helps you meet job requirements for the senior level position.

Why do we need a transit visa if we are just passing by the airport( I know UK has this rule). Can someone please share if we really need the transit visa. I am travelling on next week to Chennai via Frankfurt.

In my experience, it is not required if your are still within the expiry date on the previous stamping and the previous stamping was for a H1-B. You just need to show the latest 797 ( h1-b approval) . I have used this feature many times, and have even changed two employers in between. Never had a problem, except once while coming back from Canada. The immigration officer was new and hence went and asked her superior who said it is no problem. I was let thru with not problems after that. I never had a problem in SFO, thru which i travel frequently.
I think i saw a FAQ for this on murthy.com . check that site as well.
In the end, I am not an attorney, so dont legally hold me to my response. consult your attorney.
